Question:

Why can't my Chevy Volt unit be upgraded and still work on 120 volts?

Answer:
This is a limitation of the original design. It's not feasible for us to offer a universal-voltage upgrade for these units at this time. Unfortunately these can only be upgraded to 208-240 volt ONLY operation, and will provide 13 amps to your Volt. However, this will more than half your charge time, and do so wasting less electricity, so this is a good low-cost option for many. You can also purchase a new Panasonic unit from us, it will work properly with your Volt and give you universal voltage capability as well as faster charging and programmable amperage.
